Our Worst Critic

We all know who our worst critic is, right? Ourselves! Old news. We constantly compare ourselves, talk down to ourselves, and beat ourselves up. Anyone who says they don't do that, isn't telling the whole truth. I'm not talk every minute of every day. But we all do it every so often. Social media makes that even more prevalent in our lives. We don't follow the people's who's pictures aren't in the perfect lighting and not with a $500+ camera. We insist on following and stalking the "perfect" people. Then we sit and beat ourselves up because we just had cake for breakfast and don't have a beach body. But tell ourselves "I'll do better tomorrow!". Just to be met with another "failure" in the social media world. We hide from social media and hope everyone thinks we're just too busy to post on social media.              Now don't misunderstand this post. This isn't a post of just "stop beating ...

Why getting married young was the best decision I ever made

You know when you're scrolling through Facebook and a random video or meme pops up and you wonder why is this here? Then you realize because a friend of yours tagged another friend in it & now your whole feed is full of memes that others people have tagged their friends in? It's pretty frustrating, huh? You may be wondering "Why is she starting a post called 'Why getting married young was the best decision I ever made' like this?" Because a meme popped up(I don't remember what it was about or what it said) but a girl I knew through high school and church wrote something bashing people who get married young and quick. A part of her comment that she tagged someone in that bothered me was she said something along the lines of "That's why you don't get married at 18 after knowing each other for 4 months lol". That's okay that she said that. She has a right to her opinion. But frankly, her opinion was judgment and rude. Es...

Something We All Need To Start Doing NOW!

It seems no matter where you look there's something terrible happening. It seems this post could be about ANYTHING really. There's so much we need to start doing to make this world a little better. How could we possibly choice one?! Obviously this isn't the only thing we need to start doing. And there may be some of you who can be good at it, if that's you, then improve even more! We all know we need to be kind. Ellen says it at the end of every show! But I feel there's a lack of this thing in the world: verbalizing compliments.               We all can admit that we see someone and think "I really like her hair!" Or "That guy's shirt is awesome!" Did you regret saying it? You probably just told yourself "That'd be weird. It's a stranger." Or "They wouldn't care if I said it or not anyways." But you don't know what a simple compliment can do for a person. There day could have been going terrib...

Reasons YOU need self care!

Today is International Women's Day. How amazing right? A day just to remember just how strong women are! I love it! Women deal with a lot of things. Two of the biggest things being: sexual harassment and inequality. But women today are breaking to mold of silence! They're standing up! They're speaking out! No matter the cost. So in honor of International Women's Day I thought I'd share with you why YOU need self-care!              If you don't know what self-care is already, let me fill you in. It's doing something that makes YOU happy. Makes you happy to be alive! But most of all it's something that makes you love yourself. Self-care can be serving someone, making a list of things you love about yourself(on the inside and out), going for a walk through nature WITHOUT technology, doing your hair cute, taking a bubble bath, doing yoga, meditating, eating your favorite meal, treating yourself. Anything tha...

This Is Me!

I have yet to meet 1 person who didn't like The Greatest Showman! My husband and I still can't stop listening to the sound track. It has so many lesson someone can learn from it. To not let money and fame be your main focus in life. That family is all the matters. You can find "your people" in life. You don't have to be ashamed of being different. That true love can defy all odds. Yet, the lesson that hits me the hardest is the title of my post today. This is me.              What a strong, unapologetic, and confident statement to make. THIS. IS. ME. No more, no less. A beautiful, glorious, and strong being. It makes me think about why this song has become so popular. A big factor is the actress who sings the song, Keala Settle. She is a standard for us all. Someone who I'd imagine has worked her tail off for her big break. And suddenly here it is. Happening all so fast. She may have almost given up. She...
